1937, S. Arthur Axtens. 1001 Logan St. (northwest corner of E. 10th Ave.)

Capitol Hill boasts several dozen intact Streamline Moderne and Art Deco apartment houses. This representative, three stories with a flat roof, has a yellow wire-cut brick skin. Streamline Moderne detailing includes raised horizontal banding and long fenestration bays of glazed yellow brick. Large steel casement jalousie windows are grouped vertically by size for a symmetrical, machine age appearance. The curved entry corner has side lights and a shallow transom in a faux stone surround beneath a cantilevered stainless steel canopy.
