This is the second church on this site (its predecessor dated to 1883) and the third church for this congregation, which was founded in 1856. The red brick and cream limestone-trimmed church by Easterwood of Waco is dominated by a five-story, Perpendicular Gothic–styled entrance tower. The corners of the tower are strengthened by compound piers that dramatically rise without insets until near the top stage. The wall surfaces between the piers are divided by four, thin stone ribs that end in pinnacles. Two entrance porches are like solid blocks of stone, with gable tops and pointed-arched doorways chiseled out. Subsequent additions have maintained harmony with the materials and style of the original church.
