This architects’ office is an unornamented, two-story, concrete tilt-wall-constructed building with interior steel framing and asymmetrically placed windows. The building demonstrates Welch’s ability to take mundane construction techniques and refine them into a subtle statement of proportion and respect for materials. The facade is composed with a central projecting block (by a matter of inches) framed by solid, end bays of the same height. The hollowed-out corner entrance is like those found on corner banks in most Texas small towns. The building is now the office of James R. Rhotenberry and Mark T. Wellen, who both worked for Welch in this location.
