The two-story red brick commercial building, the most prominent building remaining in town, has a three-bay front portico with two recessed entrances on the first floor and a five-bay second floor with paired Corinthian colonnettes on piers between each window. These pressed metal features match those found in the Mesker and Bros. of St. Louis mail-order catalogs. The flat-roofed portico of four tall square columns is a later addition. Second-floor windows on the side elevations have segmental brick arches, and the long walls have corbeled brick brackets and stepped parapets.
