Manitou Arcade

-A A +A
1930, M. F. Yount. 924 Manitou Ave. (to Cascade Ave.)

M. F. Yount, owner of the Green Stone Quarry near Manitou, built this full-block arcade with square columns of rough-cut stone from his quarry. The gable roof has exposed beams, truss work, and bracketed eaves. Alpine and English elements compete in this amusement center, which houses many games, some antiques in themselves. Original fenestration and floor plans survive, as do copper light fixtures and roof drains.
