YMCA of the Rockies Snow Mountain Ranch

1907. 4 miles west of Tabernash, west off U.S. 40 at the end of Meadow Lane

The Rowley Ranch House (1907; restored 1982) serves as a museum and nature center for a 3,000-acre recreational haven with campsites, cabins, and a main lodge. The log Rowley Ranch House has a low-pitched roof supported by a central log wall. The museum complex includes a horse-powered hay stacker, a one-room trapper's cabin of chinked logs with a sod roof built into a low hillside, an outhouse, a milking shed, a root cellar, a smoke-house, a logger's cabin, a hog house, a rhubarb patch, a barn full of antique machinery, and a new outdoor chapel.
