John C. Osgood opened this mill to refine the snowy white stone that George Yule had discovered. Nearby, the Mormon church also established the smaller White Marble Company quarry, and eastern stockholders opened the Strauss Quarry. Several marble-clad ruins, including six storage shed towers, remain of Osgood's operation.
