Schneider Brewery

-A A +A
1888. 240 N. Convent St. (southeast corner of W. Plum St.)

A Tuscan-style double penthouse distinguishes this otherwise ordinary six-story brick edifice, which acquired many additions as the town and its thirst grew. Henry Schneider founded the brewery, which marketed its beers throughout the southwest. Schneider's survived Prohibition to become one of the last hometown Colorado breweries. Closed around 1960, it is abandoned and neglected.
