Samuel and Eliza Bingham came from Missouri in 1864 with their cattle, children, and two wagons. They built a two-story frame house, using simple, front-gable construction. A newer house in front now obscures one of the oldest residences in northern Colorado. The Bingham Hill Cemetery (1862), northeast corner of North Overland Trail and Bingham Hill Road, contains more than 120 graves of settlers and later inhabitants identified in Rose L. Brink's book Bingham Hill Cemetery (1988), including various Binghams.
