Depot Hotel

1897. East end of 5th St. (NR)

This two-story, hip-roofed hotel replaced a more elaborate predecessor, the Palace, destroyed by fire in 1896. The current brick hotel aspires to a Neo-Georgian plan and style with two rectangular, two-story sections connected by a central, one-story wing. Closed in 1938, it reopened in 1979 and has been subjected to minimal “improvements.”
