Yeamans Hardware

Akron's oldest business was opened by brothers Edward and Charles Yeamans in this false-fronted, one-story frame structure with pressed metal “brick” siding. This general store had a mortuary in the basement. Between two vintage glazed storefronts, the traditional recessed double-door entry leads to an ancient interior crammed with antiques. The Yeamans have moved into a newer brick store next door and maintain this as a museum annex.
