Westbridge, one of the earliest projects to rise in the new West End section of Downtown West, best exemplifies the hoped-for results of the mixed-use zone. A nine-story office building at the north and a ten-story condominium block at the south frame an open, Ushaped courtyard, which is oriented west toward Georgetown. Brick-sheathed balconies define the facade of the condominium tower and those sections of the office blocks that face the condo-miniums, while simple flat bands of brick and glass define the remainder of the office block. Retail shops line the first floor, and a swimming pool and terrace are located at the second-story level of the courtyard, all offering amenities appropriate for the project's affluent tenants and residents.
