The mill, now deteriorated, was the heart of the operation and the destination of the aerial trams bringing ore down from the mountain. The trams took the ore to the upper bin on the uphill side of the structure. After sorting and crushing, the finer ore went to the lower bins. It was then transported by belts into the ball mills, just below, where the ore was fully crushed. Below the mills the concentrate tanks separated the gold from the ore. Off to one side was the clean up and assay room, for testing the product, added in 1938. Also in that year, a south wing was added for the powerhouse and machine shop. The diesel-powered generators provided electricity to all of the buildings at the mine complex. In 1939, the power plant was enlarged and a separate blacksmith shop was added.
