Light of the World Catholic Church

-A A +A
1989, Karl A. Berg of Hoover Berg Desmond. 10306 W. Bowles Ave.

Honored by a national AIA award, this radically contemporary hilltop church was designed, according to the founding pastor, “from the inside out.” The result is a dramatic, skeletal church of modest materials: brick, drywall, laminated timber, and glass blocks. Yet it embraces the traditional forms of the baptistery, cloister, colonnade, chapel, gallery, and steeple.
