First Baptist Church

-A A +A
1891. Bluff St. (west end of 4th St.)

Exuberant pediments and scrolled wooden trim shine on this Queen Anne church with lap siding and Carpenter's Gothic detailing. The 45-foot steeple culminates in a weathervane finial with a cutout cross. Fine leaded and stained glass windows grace a sanctuary that seats over a hundred on folding opera chairs. Volunteers completely restored the church and installed a new metal roof for the building's centennial.
