Tawny local sandstone forms the walls, bandstand support, and entry gateway for this rodeo and fairgrounds. A stone wall stretching for three blocks along Main Avenue is the back wall for adobe brick stables. They face the large grandstand, a frame affair built on stout stone pillars. Amid sprawling Main Avenue development, this relic of the 1930s somehow survives, despite intense development pressure, as perhaps Colorado's finest WPA-built county fairgrounds.
