Moffat County Courthouse

-A A +A
1917, William N. Bowman. 1963, Nixon and Jones. 221 W. Victory Way

A modern courthouse similar to Lester Jones's Usonian creation in Cañon City (Fremont County, FR16), this three-story, red brick cubistic composition has copper fascias and trim and recessed and cantilevered spaces. A look at the backside reveals how the newer structure incorporates and hides Bowman's original building of rough-faced sandstone.
