Dr. W. W. Ashley's gracefully aging Queen Anne house is the town's show home and a catalog collection of gingerbread trim. Its rich detail includes an oak leaf frieze on the front bay window and the elaborate porch with its spindles, beading, cutouts, and hanging pendants. The matching garage has a granite foundation and shingle-skirted second story. Seven different styles of shingles adorn the house, but excessive detail is relieved by the harmonious massing: the front facade enlarges upon a bay window in repeated rectangles.
