Home Ranch

-A A +A
1978, Robert C. McHugh. 54880 Routt County 129

This neo-rustic dude ranch has traditional log and gable construction, metal roofs, exposed rafter ends, overhanging eaves, and river rock fireplaces and chimneys. Architect Robert McHugh studied the nearby Brown ranch house ( RT20) for inspiration. The historic precedent is visible in the main lodge's two-story wings with steep, facedormered gable roofs. Large, grouped windows and clerestories invite light inside. Around this central lodge, six similarly designed cabins are scattered across an aspen-blanketed hillside.
