Courthouse Annex (Saguache Elementary School)

-A A +A
Saguache Elementary School
1915, Harry James Manning and Francis W. Frewen. South side of Christy Ave., between 6th and 7th sts.

The Mediterranean Revival influenced this pressed red brick H-shaped structure with gabled wings. The first story of the two-story building has a series of round-arched openings separated by flat pilasters that are echoed in the north gable ends of the wings. Decorative patterns in the brick, brick banding, and concrete panels add distinction, as does the red tiled roof, crowned by an octagonal chimney and a cupola.
