Brazilian Delegation to the Organization of American States, Ambassador's Residence

Ray designed this gambrel-roofed house in a freely interpreted combination of Georgian and Federal forms and details to capitalize on its corner site. Arched ground-story windows set within wide ornate blind arches flank the entry and carry one double bay around the corners. The Baroque-inspired rusticated doorway with a deeply projecting but suppressed swan's neck pediment is particularly fine.
