Reminiscent of the mid-nineteenth-century Ecclesiological Society’s emphasis on honesty of design, this revival of fourteenth-century English Gothic is set back on a large lawn, with massive gables descending nearly to the ground and red brick walls supported by stepped buttresses. The cavernous interior also features red brick walls supporting the lofty dark-stained timber roof framing, which sets off the German and English stained glass. All of the interior wood furnishings, including the rood screen, pulpit, and statues, were supplied by the Manitowoc Seating Company of Wisconsin, and crafted by workmen trained in Oberammergau, Germany.
