Cottage

-A A +A
c. 1880. 1246 C Ave. E.

All of the elaboration one might associate with a large, grand house has here been miniaturized. A dramatic, finely detailed wooden bay porch projects from the center of the street elevation. Above the entrance is a wide gable end containing a tripartite window. This is balanced on each side by projecting wall dormers. Wide bargeboards are present on each gable end, and paneling and fishscale shingles are used on the upper walls of the house.
