Council Bluffs Public Library

-A A +A
1904–1905, Patton and Miller. Southwest corner of Willow Ave. and Pearl St.

The library's prominent location and large size provide a good indication of the important place it has occupied in the community. The long, low Beaux-Arts structure built of brick with stone trim appears strong and assertive at its entrance portico. At this point in the design, the architect introduced a screen of Ionic columns set slightly in front of three arched openings.
