  • Thomas Hart Benton, Jr., House (David Gebhard and Gerald Mansheim)

Except for a slight hint at verticality, this Federal-style house might have been built in upstate New York around 1820. The central entrance door is surrounded by side lights and a rectangular transom. The house was built by Brig. Gen. Thomas H. Benton, nephew of Sen. Thomas H. Benton of Missouri.
