Locust School

1854. Take route W38 north of Decorah for about 10 miles to route A26; the school is located at the northeast corner of the junction

This is one of Iowa's earliest one-room schoolhouses. It is classical (almost Greek Revival) in its composition of limestone walls covered by a simple gable roof.
