Washington Prairie Methodist Church

-A A +A
1863–1868. Travel 4 miles east of Decorah on Iowa 9, then south on route W42 for 2.5 miles

The style of this small stone church with pediments and entablature/cornice is Greek Revival. The entrance on the gable end is round arched, while the windows on the sides of the building are pointed Gothic. The church was restored in the early 1970s, and one can arrange to visit it through the Norwegian-American Museum in Decorah.
