Fort Dodge Historical Museum, Fort, and Stockade

-A A +A
1850. Kenyon Rd (US 20) and Museum Rd.

The fort was constructed in 1850 and was abandoned three years later. What we experience today is a replica built between 1962 and 1964. The fort was rectangular in form, with two sides composed of buildings and two of a vertical log stockade. At one corner was a single blockhouse with a cantilevered second floor.
