Cottage

-A A +A
c. 1875, and later. 803 Pleasant St.

The nineteenth-century designer mixed the Gothic and Eastlake together, accompanied by a nod or two to the Italianate. Then in the twentieth century a new roof covered by large side-lap asphalt shingles was added, and the porch and bays were then clothed in stone (or concrete cast in imitation of stone?). Remodelings such as this can often destroy a building, but not in this case; each change has helped.
