  • Payne Cottage (Dual Gables) (David Gebhard and Gerald Mansheim)

This unusual Y-plan cottage has a wall at a 45-degree angle between the branches of the “Y,” forming the entrance and porch. There is an Eastlake band of sawed crosses just below the roof's eaves, and some walls have been treated with a herringbone pattern. Horizontal bands of paneling have been carried across the walls below and above the windows. A single dormer with a gable roof, placed at a 45-degree angle, looks out over the entrance porch.
