One Lewis Wharf

-A A +A
1982, Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. Off Atlantic Ave.

This small office building for a law firm capitalizes on its harbor site. The three-story structure is marked by brick and precast concrete on the Atlantic Avenue facade, but its focus is on the harbor side. Here, a light-framed glass grid is punctuated by sunscreens providing a degree of energy efficiency during all seasons. On the third floor, a deck overlooks the harbor, but the building's low height permits adjacent Lewis Wharf condominiums and apartment houses to share the waterfront views.
