Wilkes University (Bucknell College, Wilkes College)
Founded as a junior college by Bucknell University ( UN19) in 1933, it was renamed Wilkes College in 1947 when it became an independent four-year institution, then designated Wilkes University in 1990. In addition to its recent purpose-built structures, the university occupies numerous nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century mansions built by the industrial elite.
