This bridge across Pine Creek is a lattice truss, sometimes called a Warren quadrangular, a type that is rarely used because of its structurally indeterminate nature. It has the advantage of relatively light members and reasonable economy. This 227-foot-long through deck bridge has coursed ashlar abutments and is constructed of riveted steel plates, angles, and lacing bars. It was built in 1890 after the flood of 1889 washed out earlier bridges in this area. Pine Creek roughly bisects Brown Township in Lycoming County's northwest corner, an area known for its natural grandeur and world-renowned trout fishing. Approximately half of the township's lands are in Tiadaghton State Forest.
