Julia Ward Howe Home (Oak Glen)
Dr. Samuel and Julia Ward Howe bought a small farm cottage in the 1870s which became the rear ell for the Victorian enlargement in front. A house of more historical than architectural consequence, it nevertheless boasts a forthrightness of character in accord with its role as a meeting place important in late-nineteenth-century social reform.
