Alterations in the mansard spoil this otherwise impressive investment Second Empire duplex—although a side view reveals the nature of what was changed. Stacked two-storied, semipentagonal (almost semicircular) bays with tall, narrow windows between bracketed pilasters flank the double porch and its cascade of granite steps. Arches above the second-story windows make a transition to the deeply bracketed cornice and the (original) roll of the culminating dormers (with mini-gables between on the side elevations).
