O. Henry House
1891. 409 E. 5th St.

Austin's favorite poet, William Sydney Porter, who wrote under the pen name O. Henry, lived in this small wooden cottage. It is one of the few remaining cottages of the era in the city. The house is twice moved and under the care of the City of Austin since 1934.
