El Globo Chiquito

-A A +A
1887. 1050 E. Monroe St.

This is a double-wide, side-gabled wooden cottage with scalloped eaves that, although domestic in scale and appearance, functioned as a commercial establishment within the perimeter of the courthouse square. As found throughout the Fourth Ward, this Anglo-American building type that would traditionally have been set back from the street, here fronts the sidewalk in the Mexican tradition.
