This twelve-sided pavilion has a central interior support pole, the trademark of Hintz's three dance halls in Austin County (PF54) and Peters-Hacienda Schuetzen Verein of 1900 in Peters, also in Austin County. Six or more of these polygonal social and dance halls survive in Austin County, the largest collection of this type in the state. The hall was updated in 1937 with funding from the WPA paired with a Texas A&M student team that redesigned the park. It continues to be the primary site for community celebrations and activities.
