Harvey's Progressive Barbershop

-A A +A
1873, storefront. c. 1930, sign. 100 E. Broad St.
  • Harvey's Progressive Barbershop (Virginia Division of Historic Resources)

The illuminated Coca-Cola sign dominates the two-story brick structure. The sign faces two streets and has long been a downtown landmark. It was recently repainted but unfortunately has been without power for a number of years. Only a few of these impressive early twentieth-century illuminated signs survive in the city.
