A. Traubert's (Smith Building)

-A A +A
Smith Building
1891. 1989, Shaeffer and Madama. Northeast corner of Charles and 8th sts.

Even on a cloudy day, this pressed metal facade shines. The corner entrance is angled and is capped by an ornamental parapet and pediment, all brightly painted in appropriate Victorian colors. The 1989 renovation of the drugstore, by a Wheeling architecture firm, won an honorable mention award from the West Virginia chapter of the AIA.
