Gladwin and Vicinity

Gladwin was established by lumbermen and settled in 1876; it was incorporated as a village in 1885 and as a city in 1893. It is located on the Cedar River, the Michigan Central Railroad, and MI 61. Today Gladwin is a center for hunting and fishing.
