Jourdanton (Atascosa County)

Jourdanton, the county seat of Atascosa County, was founded in 1909 as a stop on the Artesian Belt Railroad, and was named in honor of Jourdan Campbell, one of the town's founders. The current economy of the town relies on gas, oil, and lignite coal.
