Fort Ashby

-A A +A

The Virginia legislature established this small town in December 1787 as Frankfort. Unlike most early Virginia town layouts, the grid was modified at the main crossroads to contain a public square or marketplace. Little of historic interest remains, except for a building that predates the town and gave it its present name.
