Round Barn

c. 1920s? South of Winterset on route P71 to intersection with county road G50, turn left, proceed east 4 miles on G50 to intersection with gravel road; follow gravel road 2 miles south

The walls of this single-story round barn with a conical roof are of vertical concrete staves held together by horizontally placed iron bands. This method of construction, as Soike has pointed out, 48 was more generally used for silos.
