First Congregational Church

-A A +A
1869–1870, Charles A. Dunham. 313 N. 4th St.

A corner crenellated tower with angled corner buttresses is folded into the gable-roofed body of the church. The entrance to the church is through a pair of doors in its main gabled front, above which is a large tripartite lancet window. The base of the building is of rusticated limestone, while the masonry surfaces above are more finely cut. The windows of the church exhibit a variety of late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century art glass. In style, it revives the English Gothic.
