The architect of this late Prairie-style house had worked in William L. Steele's office. With the Albertson house, he followed Steele's lead in providing a dwelling that emphasized the horizontal, but he was committed only in part to the visual language of the Prairie mode. His use of brick for the walls and green tile for the roof suggests a more staid, traditional domestic image.
