Hormel Cottage

1922. Dodge's Point

At Dodge's Point is a 1922 summer lakeshore dwelling that is decidedly Prairie style in design. The building suggests that two Prairie houses with hipped roofs have been placed on top of one another, and then this two-layered affair has been placed on a high rusticated basement. The windows, doors, and the corners of the basement are presented in stone; the intervening wall surface is in stucco. This is the type of design that could have come from the hands of Einar Broaten.
