A Prairie dwelling designed in the manner of George W. Maher, the Willoughby house is a box with a horizontal emphasis, covered by a low-pitched hipped roof with a wide overhang; there is a projecting center entrance with an upwardly curving roof supported by consoles. A living porch projects from the left side, and on the main roof of the house is a segmental arched dormer (matching the form of the curved roof above the entrance). Surprisingly this central dormer facing the street has been placed slightly off the centerline.
