The Park School is characteristic of a number of small, late-1930s schools built in Iowa. In style, it is Streamline Moderne; its single story exhibits the usual horizontal band of windows and a horizontal cornice of concrete. The architect drew attention to the off-center entrance by pulling its volume slightly in front of the surrounding walls, by raising its parapet slightly higher, and by projecting an eyebrow out above the door. Windows with grilles are placed on each side off the doorway, within the yellow brick walls of the building.
