A mixture of Viennese Secessionist architecture and the Prairie school has not quite been brought off in this Byrne design. The treatment of the gables, almost as applied triangles, and the feeling that the accompanying entablature has been merely applied signal a relationship to architecture in Central Europe, but the window grouping and the stone base refer to Griffin's nearby work.
